DR. ANGEL RAMOS – SUPERINTENDENT/ PRINCIPAL
Dr Ramos has a Ph. D in Special Education Administration, an M.S. in Deaf Education and a B.S. in Mathematics.  This is his 5th year with Sequoia and he has over 35 years experience at the pre and post secondary level in the education of the deaf and hard of hearing. 

Dr Ramos is the author of Triumph of the Spirit: The DPN Chronicle, which is used in many college programs throughout the country.

Dr. Ramos was appointed by the U.S. Ass’t Secretary of Education to be on the National Technical Institute for the Deaf National Advisory Group (NAG), and by the Governor of Arizona to be on the Arizona Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (ACDHH). Dr. Ramos is also on the boards of Closed Caption Latina, Arizona Association of the Deaf, Valley Center of the Deaf, Arizona Senior Citizens Coalition, and  Connecting Arizona Advocates..LEARN MORE
JENNIFER REID - VICE PRINCIPAL
Mrs. Reid is currently working on a Ph.D. in Psychology.  She has a MA in school counseling and a BS in SPED: Deaf Education.  Mrs. Reid is a certified teacher with over eight years of teaching experience. This year she will be teaching a Leadership class.

MARLA RAMOS - ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Dr. Ramos is also the founder of the Angel Ramos Foundation and Optischool. Optischool is an instructional tool that  helps Deaf and hard of hearing children read at grade level and be academically successful.
Mrs. Ramos previously served as Director of Fundraising/PR for the ISDB Foundation, where she raised awareness of ISDB to the general and business community. Today she keeps SSDHH running smoothly and is major advocate for both the school and the Deaf community.
MEGHAN LORENTZ-
Reading/ English Teacher
Ms. Lorenz  earned a Special Education MS Degree in Special Education/Deaf Education in 1999 and a BS in Elementary Education/Deaf Education in 1997.  She is . in Arizona and is Highly Qualified.  She has over eight years teaching experience at PDSD and Gilbert Public Schools.
HEATHER LAINE
Kindergarten & 1st Grade Teacher
Ms. Laine earned a Master's Degree in Deaf Education in 2005 and a BS in Child Development in 1997.  She is a certified teacher with SEI Certification and is NCLB Highly Qualified. This is her 11th year teaching and the Shared Reading Project Coordinator for the past six years.

Barbara, known as Bobba, earned a Master of Arts in Communication/SPED in 1983 and a Bachelor of arts in American Studies in 1980.  She is a Highly Qualified Teacher who will be teaching Language Arts, History and Social Studies.  She was a long-term sub in Southern California from 1984-1990 and is now a proud mother to two autistic teenagers.

Mr Warner earned a degree in Drama in 1972 and has over nine years of teaching experience.  This will be his second year at Sequoia.  Last year he taught English, Reading and History.  This year he will specialize in developing Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for our students.
